Programs Overview

Maryland Art Place (MAP) has been an anchor for contemporary arts in Maryland since 1981. Since its inception, MAP has effectively inspired, supported and encouraged artists in this region by offering exhibition opportunities, workshop and mentorship programs.

MAP creates a dynamic environment for artists to engage with the public, and each other, by nurturing and promoting new talents.

MAP offers a challenging schedule of innovative and diverse contemporary art experiences throughout the year. This includes the presentation of 6-8 annual exhibitions with complimentary programming including: gallery talks, performances and professional development workshops.

Maryland Art Place (MAP) is pleased to announce it will be this year’s Baltimore Fine Art Print Fair (BFAPF) Cultural Partner. After it’s triumphant debut, the fair returns with nineteen exhibitors offering the latest contemporary art in prints. Galleries, dealers, and print publishers from across the United States will present fine art prints, portfolios and artist books from both established and emerging artists. Patrons may browse, converse, and shop for their latest acquisition.

If you have questions about the show or the application process, bring them to this workshop!

The workshop will take place Saturday, March 23 at 1pm at Maryland Art Place. The workshop will be hosted by Caitlin Gill, MAP's Program Manager.

Out of Order Installation Day will take place Friday, March 29, 2019 from 7 am to midnight. All artists are welcome to hang one original work of art at this event.

We hope to see you there!
