What's to come at MAP

Out of Order

Join us for Out of Order, MAP's 20th Annual Spring Benefit, Silent Auction and Party!  Entering its 21st year, Out of Order will take place Friday, April 13, 2018. View and bid on works from over 250 regional artists - from emerging and student artists to established professionals.

By covering the walls from floor to ceiling, Out of Order provides an opportunity for artists to hang their work in a salon-style exhibition.  OOO is a unique way to get involved with Baltimore’s growing art scene while supporting one of Baltimore’s most established contemporary arts organizations.  Proceeds from art sales are split equally between MAP and the artist.  Revenue generated at Out of Order directly supports MAP’s programs, exhibitions and opportunities; furthering MAP’s mission to support emerging and mid-career artists and professionals throughout the year.

ARTISTS: Check back in February for more information about how to participate!

Tickets will go on sale in March 2018. All tickets include free entry to KIDOOO, MAP's accompanying youth-driven OOO exhibition in the 2nd floor Members Gallery.

Curators' Incubator 2018

Exhibition on View:  May 17 - June 23, 2018

May 17, 2018: Curators' Incubator Opening Reception

Maryland Art Place (MAP) is excited to restore the Curators’ Incubator program, slated to open May of 2018.  MAP established Curators’ Incubator in 2004 as a platform for aspiring curators to grow. In this program, MAP’s gallery is made available to an emerging curator or curatorial team to develop a creative, curatorial vision as part of a mentored partnership initiative. The program provides approximately 2,200 square feet of gallery space in downtown Baltimore, located within the Bromo Arts District.

The selected curator for Curators' Incubator will be announced this January 2018. Stay tuned!
