On behalf of Parks & People and South Baltimore Gateway Partnership (SBGP), Maryland Art Place (MAP) is offering an exciting opportunity to Baltimore regional artists (MD, DC, PA, DE, VA) working in large-scale sculpture to create artworks of historical Baltimore Black Sox baseball players. Join us at MAP Wednesday, November 12th from 6 - 8pm to meet BSSP partners, Assedo Consulting and Field Operations. Community Engagement is an important part of this project. Assedo Consulting will share details about this exciting project as well as discuss the importance of Black Sox community and the families who carry their legacies forward. Field Operations will provide an overview of the Westport Waterfront Park and Memorial location, followed by an overview of the RFP and a Q&A.
Maryland Art Place (MAP) inspires, supports, and encourages artistic expression through innovative programming, exhibitions, and educational opportunities while recognizing the powerful impact art can have on our community. MAP creates a dynamic environment for artists of our time to engage the public by nurturing and promoting new ideas. MAP has served as a critical resource for contemporary art in the Mid-Atlantic since 1981.
