Volunteering and Internships

Interns and volunteers serve an invaluable role at MAP, making the daily operation of a not-for-profit art center both efficient and enjoyable, and our joint efforts in making contemporary art more accessible to the community even more worthwhile.

We are sincerely grateful for the assistance our interns and volunteers, both past and present, have lent to MAP.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Learn how a dynamic contemporary art center operates.

Work with MAP’s high-energy team.

Add real professional experience to your portfolio. Tasks include: exhibition development and presentation; special projects and events; arts administration; social media and community outreach.

This opportunity is for upper level college students, graduate students and recent graduates.
Fall, Spring and Summer Internships available. MAP hours: 9 am-5 pm, Tuesday-Saturday.

We are not currently accepting applications. We will begin accepting applications for Spring 2011 Internships November 1, 2010.

Required: High interest. Good energy. Positive attitude. Professional demeanor. Reliability.
Preferred: Familiarity with Mac and PC platforms; Microsoft Office; Photoshop; social media.

NOTE: MAP internships are unpaid and do not include parking. Academic credit available.

Become a Volunteer:

We have many opportunities for ongoing and special events volunteers—volunteer once a year or once a week!

Attend our spring and fall benefits for free when you contribute a few hours of your time on the day or night of the event. Lend a hand at our next Reception or Public Forum. Or get a little closer to the MAP family by helping out in the office more regularly—we always need an extra hand with bulk mail, filing, gallery reception, painting, and a host of other hands-on or computer tasks.
