El Paseo Invitational Exhibition - CA
The City of Palm Desert is now accepting applications for the 2009/2010 El Paseo Invitational Exhibition. The exhibition is showcased on the medians of El Paseo and is seen by thousands of visitors each year as well as advertised nationally, regionally, and locally. The exhibition is juried by a curator and runs for approximately two years. Applications are due on May 10, 2008 Honorarium: $2,500 for each selected artwork. Exhibition Guidelines Overview: · All artists, galleries, museums/non-profit arts organizations, and private collectors are encouraged to participate. · All sculptures must be installed on one of the existing pads along the El Paseo median (see full guidelines for pad sizes). · All sculptures MUST be designed with tabs or other devices that can be utilized to secure the artwork to the concrete pads. · Artworks can be sold, but not removed for six months once installation is completed. If a sculpture from the exhibition is sold, the artist or representative must resubmit for approval of a replacement artwork. · Installation will be paid for by the City of Palm Desert and scheduled starting October 20, 2008. 4th Annual 2008 IAPP Juried Panoramic Photography Contest & Exhibition
The international association of Panoramic Photographers is sponsoring a juried panoramic photography contest and exhibition with cash and merchandise prizes of $6,500. All images that pass both phases of the judging process will be exhibited at the IAPP Convention site in Boulder, CO, The Marlboro Gallery, Prince Georges Community College, MD. The Valley Photo Center, Springfield, MA and the Light street Gallery, Baltimore , MD

The American Academy of Equine Art - KY
Fall open juried exhibition of original work depicting the horse in any setting. Open to all artists over the age of 18. All art must be original work depicting the horse in any setting. Representations of all breeds are encouraged and accepted. Categories include oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, drawing, and sculpture. Sculpture is only considered in a permanent medium. No stained glass, textiles, photography, jewelry, reproductions or computer-made graphics will be accepted. All work must be completed. A non-refundable entry fee of $40 plus a $5 processing fee for each entry submitted on slides or photos (there is no processing fee for entries submitted on CDs) must accompany the entry form. Paint the Parks Competition
The 2008 Paint the Parks100 Competition and the Paint the Parks “Mini50” provide the country’s top national venue for established and emerging representational artists to showcase their talents. The competition celebrates our country’s national parks, with a portion of the proceeds benefi tting the National Parks Foundation (www.nationalparks.org) The competition also supports the PaintAmerica mission of providing scholarships for young artists and promoting the visual arts across America.
In addition to widespread national recognition from being juried into the Paint the Parks100, artists also have the chance of receiving one of many prestigious awards and/or cash prizes and purchase awards. Winners will be a part of the Paint the Parks National Touring Exhibition. Professional promotion, national publicity, sales opportunities and exhibition in the PaintAmerica online gallery are also included for all winning artists. Our goal is to make the Paint the Parks100 the most renowned art competition in America!
Entries representing any of the 390 National Parks are submitted and judged within one of the three National Park Regions. The highest scoring painting from all entries is named the Grand Prize Purchase Award Winner and claims a $10,000 purchase award. It, and the top 33 paintings from each of the three regions advance to the Paint the Parks100. Other artists in the top 100 also have the chance to receive additional cash prizes and purchase awards. Recognition is also given to the “2nd 100” artists.

Art Kudos Competition
Artshow.com is currently accepting entries for the 4th annual Art Kudos Competition. $3,400 in awards. Open to all artists 18 and older. OPEN CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS
Photographers working in all styles, in traditional or digital formats, are invited to enter up to two of their photographic images for the international juried photography exhibition Glimpses in Time. The top award recipient will receive a solo exhibition at the Joyce Gordon Gallery. This year’s exhibit pays tribute to the life and art of James Van Der Zee, an American-born photographer who produced the most comprehensive documentation of the Harlem Renaissance. His experimentation with double exposures and retouching negatives allowed him to articulate the persona of a period that influenced generations of artists around the globe.
About the Juror: Steven Wirtz, owner of the prestigious Steven Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco, will be the sole juror. Opening in 1972, the Steven Wirtz Gallery has become one of the most established galleries in California, with a strong focus on photography.
A portion of the submission fees will benefit the photography club at Seven Tepees Youth Program (San Francisco, CA).

Art Buzz Call for Entries
Art Buzz is now accepting entries for inclusion into the premier visual arts showcase, hardcover publication, Art Buzz, The 2009 Collection. The competition is open to visual artists, worldwide, who work in any visual art media (must be 18 or older). Art Buzz, the book, is a full color, square format, hardcover "coffee table" type publication that is scheduled for release in the winter of 2009, with a vigorous distribution and marketing plan. The pages of Art Buzz, The 2009 Collection, are open to all quality visual artists including new artists that have yet to venture out for public scrutiny. Art Buzz, founder, artist Tony Blue, knows how important the big 'E' – EXPOSURE – is and all serious visual artists are encouraged to enter the competition to be included and exposed in this volume, Art Buzz, The 2009 Collection. The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), an internationally renowned college of art and design, business and technology of the State University of New York invites applications for faculty positions. Appointment will begin in fall 2008. Qualifications: Master’s degree in relevant discipline; six years’ senior level industry experience; proficiency in and ability to teach current, industry-standard, design software; and experience with course management systems. Minimum of three years’ experience teaching college-level design courses. The Department is seeking a graphic designer with expertise in multimedia, including motion graphics, interactive media, and other associated disciplines. Experience teaching courses such as Graphic Design, Web Design, and Motion Graphics.
